I Like Soft Sheets
So far my 3 weeks on this planet has been mostly filled with eating, cuddling, and sleeping. I am getting pretty good at it. We had a little issue though with the conditions in my crib. You see, the mattress was hard as a rock and the sheets were scratchy! How is a little girl supposed to relax under those conditions?! I had a little talk with Mommie and she remedied the situation by outfitting my crib with a nice comfy memory foam mattress and silky soft birch sheets. I am sleeping much better now becuase of it! Thanks Mommie!!

Decks Drums and Rock and Roll
Daddy, Connor, Uncle Kevin and I did some hard work up at camp as well. I got to help them tear off our rotten front deck and start building a nice new one. Daddy let me pound some nails and use the socket wrench. I had so much fun. My baby sister got to hang out with Tita Reyna and watch. I don't think she minded so much!

Back From Camp!
We just got back from two whole weeks up at camp. I had a super good time hanging out with Grammy, Grandpap, Nona, Connor, and Mommie and Daddy. We did all kinds of fun things. My baby sister had fun too hanging out too. She is still too small to play in the woods with me, but pretty soon we will be able to do all kinds of fun stuff together. Grammy and Grandpap had to go back to Ohio which was really sad. They flew out in their airplane with their dog Lady. I got to go to the airport and say goodbye. I really hope they come back soon. Mommie says now that we have internet we will put more pictures up and I can tell everyone more of my adventures. Check back soon!

Feed The Baby
So far it's been super fun having a baby sister. She doesn't do much right now but I have a lot of responsibilities to help take care of her. Mommie let's me help change her diapers and this morning Daddy showed me how to hold the baba for her. I really like being a big brother!

Happy Zero Birthday To Jessica!
Mommie and Daddy had a party for my baby sister on Sunday when she came home from the hospital. A few people stopped by to say hello and I got to play with some of my friends like Camilla and Jag. I really like having a baby sister. She is so tiny and cute and even though she doesn't do much right now I still like giving her kisses and rubbing her head. Mommie says I am amazing and she thought I might be more jealous. I can't wait until she is bigger though so we can play.

Big Surprise!
Jessica has arrived! At 4:25pm pdt little miss decided to make her grand entrance into the world. 7 lbs 8 oz and 20" long, she is perfect. On Friday the 13th we had all decided to head up to Healdsburg for a relaxing day at Camp Lester. Drea had cooked dinner for everyone and was washing Jason's hands to eat when she felt a small gush. She thought her water had possibly broken, but since that had not happened with Jason she wasn't really sure. We decided to go ahead and eat dinner before heading down to San Francisco to get checked out. It seemed like labor might start on it's own and there wasn't that big of a rush. At 9pm we arrived at Kaiser San Francisco and much to everyone's dismay they couldn't find any leaking amniotic fluid. The doctor decided to do an ultrasound before sending us home and discovered that Jessica's fluid level was indeed low. To be safe they decided to admit Drea and start the induction process. We had no idea what to expect, but the doctor said that it could be a lenghty process that could take up to a couple of days. Because Drea was slightly dehydrated it was difficult to find a suitable vein for the IV. The nurses tried 4 times before calling in the anisthesiologist! It was painful to watch! By 3:30am they were able to start the Pitocin drip and by 10am Drea started feeling contractions. They were growing stronger but not too terribly uncomfortable. Every 20-30 min the nurse would come in and turn up the dose in order to establish a continual labor pattern. By 2pm Drea's body had taken over and the contractions were growing nice and strong. The doctor came in and checked and even though the contractions had been continuous she was only dialated to 3cm. We had 7 more to go and decided to hold out a bit longer on the epidural. After 45 min in a nice warm shower Drea decided that she had enough and we called the doctor back in for another check. Much to our dismay she was still only 3cm! The anistheologist was called back in and the epidural was administered. It was so hard for Drea to sit still during the contractions while they inserted the 6" needle into her back. 30 min later we had pain relief and everyone was happy again. Another nurse came into insert a bladder cathetor and after a failed attempt she told us that the babies head was too far down in the way. Drea mentioned that she was feeling a lot of strange pressure and as the nurse walked back over a look of panic took over. "Delivery! Delivery!" she shouted and hit the panic button. Jessica was crowning all on her own! They told Drea to stop pushing and Drea was quick to say "I'm NOT pushing!" A doctor from a delivery next door came rushing over just in time to catch her and Daddy was right there to cut the cord. No one could believe it! All is well with Mom and Baby and we expect to be able to go home in the morning.
Welcome to the world Jessica Alice Marie!

Movin' On Up!
Right now we live in an apartment in the Marina. It turns out though we actually have a house too! Mommie said we were supposed to live there before I was born but that didn't happen. I have been going to visit our house a lot lately, but I think I am glad we don't live there because there are no walls! I love going there though and watching all the men do work with their tools. I have a tool box at home that I practice with. Maybe Daddy will let me work on it sometime too!

Uh Oh!
Mommie and Daddy took me over to Tilden Park today. I got to ride the Steam Train again and see the animals at the little farm. I even got to fly my new airplane. Well, that was until....I guess you will just have to watch the movie below!

Fishin' Buddies!
This is my new friend Jag. (No, not the fish, the guy on the left.) Jag's real name is Justin but his daddy thought Jaguar sounded cooler than Justin and I guess it stuck. My daddy and his daddy have been friends since they were little boys in the third grade. We have been hanging out lately and I really like the guy. He is about 13 months old but he is almost my size! I like making new friends!

Life's A Beach

Normally people don't think of the beach when they think of San Francisco, but today the temperature got up to 80 degrees here and Mommie and Daddy decided that it was too nice to stay inside. We went for a drive in Mini down to Ocean Beach where I got to play in the sand and run around with my bare feet. I had so much fun. Watch my little movie Mommie made!

Taking Daddy For A Ride
Tonight we went down to The Palace Of Fine Arts to feed the ducks before dinner. After Daddy worked so hard to push me on my trike down there I thought he could use a ride back. Watch the video Mommie took!

Go Fly A Kite!
Mommie and Daddy took me to Chrissy Field to fly my new kite. They had a hard time trying to figure out how to put it together, but once we got it together it went so super high. Mommie even let me try and fly it myself. I had so much fun!

Jason & Jessica at 33 weeks
Both babies look very different. Jessica looks so much more like Drea and Jason looks just like Chad. Jessica was very happy and smiley during the ultrasound! We can't wait to meet her. Just 5 short weeks to go!

"Wait Daddy! We can't go inside of a tree!"

"That's really funny Daddy!"

The Lester's On A Hike

Thursday, March 01, 2007

Let's Go!
Recently it was my Mommie's birthday and we all went down to Big Sur for a little vacation. I got to stay in the Big Sur park with Kate, while Mommie and Daddy had a romantic trip down the street at the Post Ranch Inn. During the day though, we got to go hiking and even a trip down to Heart Castle. I loved hiking in the woods, the trees were so big and pretty! Check back for more pictures from my adventure.

Ooohhhh!
I have officially started the process of learning to talk Mommie says. I have all kinds of neat words that I say now. They include exciting things like "ooooh!, dog, duck, uh oh!, bye bye, ball, hot, hi, baby, baba, bird, mama, and da". Daddy says that some words are more clear than others. I don't know what he is talking about since I understand everything I say perfectly. It's not my fault if my parents aren't very smart.

I Love The Fishies
Mommie, Daddy, Nona, and Connor took me to the Aquarium. I had so much fun looking at all of the fish and sharks and stuff. They even had a fun kids area where I got to splash in the water and crawl through a tunnel that was just big enough for me. I hope I can go back sometime soon.

Choo Choo
Mommie and Daddy took me over to Tilden Park in Berkeley to ride a steam train. I had seen pictures of trains in my books but never one in real life. This one was small and a perfect size for little kids. I was a little scared at first, but as we started to ride though the woods I was so excited. After our ride Daddy went and talked to the conductor and I go to see the engine up close. Daddy told me that when he was little he wanted to be a train conductor. Maybe I should think about doing that too when I get big!

Welcome Baby Karina!
My Auntie Heike had a baby last week names Karina Marian. Mommie said she is so cute and tiny, weighing only 7 pounds. She will be my little sisters age and they will probebly be really good friends. I know we will be friends too.

Kate
This is my new nanny Kate. She takes care of me while Mommie and Daddy go to their new job. So far I like her a lot. She takes me on cool outings and plays lots of fun games with me. Mommie says I am getting to be a big boy and pretty soon I am going to get to go to school. Maybe Kate can go to school with me, but she says she is already in school to be a painter. That's pretty cool.

Mmmm Chocolate
Mommie and Daddy took me to the Scharfenburger Chocolate Factory in Berkeley the other day. I didn't know what Chocolate was but boy was I glad we went. The nice lady said I was too young to go on the tour but I tried a piece anyway and oh my goodness! I loved it. Mommie said that it made me bounce off the wall. That sounds like fun too!

My Mommie is So Cool
Mommie and Daddy worked last weekend on putting heat into our house. So far we have just been using our wood stove, which is nice but Daddy says it takes a lot of work. We needed to dig trenches for the gas lines so Daddy went and rented something called a trencher. They both tried to drive it but it turns out Mommie was better at it. Daddy got to use the shovel instead.
Mommie looked so cool driving that thing around moving dirt. I wanted to try too but they said I was too little. Boy, I can't wait until I get bigger.

Happy First Anniversary Mommie and Daddy!

Thank You Santa!
I had my second Christmas ever and boy was it cool. We all went up to our Healdsburg house and I got to spend time with my Grammy, Papa, Nona, Connor, Auntie Laura, Uncle Anand, and Patti Vanitha and Thatha Sam, and of course Mommie and Daddy. We had so much fun opening presents, eating dinner, taking walks, and playing games. I love Christmas and I can't wait until next time!
