Happy 8 Week Birthday!
Jason turned 2 moons old today and surprised us with another amazing feat.....he stood up and peeked out the window! (Ok, well maybe he had a little help from Daddy on the standing up part.) But Jason really does like to look out the window and once you help him stand up he likes to hold onto the back of the sofa and enjoy the view of his favorite city.

Our First Christmas Tree
Jason's first Christmas deserved nothing less than a grand affair. Daddy had a great idea of going out to the woods finding and chopping down our own tree, something that Mommie had never done. We drove up to Skyline Blvd to the tree farm and took our time wandering through the forest looking for the perfect tree. Jason enjoyed watching daddy cut it down and was so excited in anticipation of all of the fun gifts that would be under it soon. We had a little bit of trouble getting it on top of the car, but the nice man Hans lent us a hand. Once we got it home and into the house Mommie and Daddy were both surprised just how BIG it really was. Somehow it didn't look like that in the forest.

Muir Woods
Last week we took Jason on a hike through Muir woods. It's one of Mommie and Daddy's favorite places and we were excited to show the little baby some big trees. Jason slept throuh most of the beginning of the hike but then woke up for a snack and a quick diaper change. When he opened his eyes he looked around in amazement, trying to figure out where he was and what was all around him. After the snack he stayed awake as we walked through the misty forest.

Shake Rattle & Roll
Today is Jason's 7 week birthday!
We celebrated with breakfast at Squat & Gobble in the Castro. Last night he was very proud to show mommie and daddy his new trick of grabbing objects and bringing them into his mouth. Today he impressed us even more by grabbing onto his rattle and shaking it all by himself! We already knew he was advancing ahead of schedule by holding his head up and supporting his own weight standing, but when we checked the baby milestones and it turns out that this one is a 3 month trick!
Good job Jason!

Jason's Mini
Everyone wondered weather or not we would end up getting rid of the Mini after Jason arrived. Mom was bound and determined to make it work. As we discovered, both our station wagon and the Mini were rather uncomfortable with the rear facing car seat. That was until Daddy made a wonderful discovery with the Combi Connection car seat. It is a full 2 inches shorter than the Graco Snug Ride. Here is a picture featuring both of the seats as part of our adult comfort test. Now both Mommie and Daddy can sit in the front seat comfortably and Jason can enjoy his rides with the top down!
~UPDATE~ We just discovered that Brittney Spears has been spotted with the identical car seat for Sean Preston!

Play Date
Jason met with his new friend Benjamin Their yesterday for their first play date. While most play dates happen at parks or at home, Jason and Ben preferred the trendy Slanted Door Lounge at the Ferry Building. Getting to know each other over Breastmilk Martinis and Yellowtail sashimi the two really hit it off. They really are San Francisco boys!

Jason Needs A New SUV
Mommy and Daddy have been shopping for a new car for Jason. Our sporty Audi wagon just isn't big enough for the big man and all of his accoutrements. We visited the San Francisco Auto show and looked at all of the new and fun cars. Jason quickly found his favorite and asked Daddy if they could take a ride in it. Since the nice people at the show wouldn't let us take it around the block daddy decided to strap the baby bjorn and Jason to the cattle bars instead. Daddy thought it was funny while mommy was sure someone was dialing CPS.

Jason's Ladies
Jason enjoyed spending time relaxing in Napa with the aunties. There were no shortage of open arms for him that weekend.
Here he's pictured in bed with 5 of the 7 aunties. Jason enjoyed celebrating Gina and Lauren's birthdays along with Kristie, Francie, Kyia, Shelby, and Carrie. Of course, his parents were there to supervise.

Wine Country Weekend

Now that Jason is a mature male, he decided it was time to try the finer things in life and joined Drea and I along with 7 very attractive ladies for a weekend in Sonoma, part of Northern California's wine country. So far, the trip has been wonderful. Jason really loves the attention from the ladies.

Happy One Month Birthday
Yes, yesterday was Jason's One Month Birthday. We were too busy partying to post to the blog right away. First, we took Jason to the San Francisco International Taiko Festival for an amazing performance. Because mommy and daddy personally knew Jared, one of the musicians, Jason was treated to a backstage view of the drums after the concert.Jason's birthday gifts included an infant stim mobile and a set of miniature flashing christmas tree lights. He really seems to enjoy both, but especially the green lights. Nona baked him an orange ricotta cheesecake! Very yummy!

Bridge School Benefit Concert
We took Jason to his first concert today. It was a wonderful warm day out on the lawn at the Shorline Amphitheater in Palo Alto. Jason really enjoyed the stylings of acts such as Emmy Lou Harris, Neil Young, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dave Matthews, Norah Jones, and especially Los Lobos. Chad just hopes that it doesn't mean that will grow up to like the Gypsy Kings.
