Camping Kids
Now that the kids are getting a little older we are venturing into the world of the great outdoors and family camping! In true family style, we are cheating a bit with a pop out trailer. The kids love it and Jason really loves helping Daddy set up and get the campfire going. Last weekend we headed up to Shasta Lake to take in the beautiful vista and swim in the warm lake water. Unfortunately what we found was ash and smoke filled air from one of the many nearby fires and a lake that is 90 feet low and counting! We made the best of it though and still had a great time. There is nothing that a good old fashioned Smore can't fix!

Jessica spelunking in the big cave!

Ready to head out hiking

The beautiful Sacramento River. Unfortunately Jason learned first hand why we don't drink straight from the river. He is now well versed on "River Bugs".

Poor Shasta Lake. Each line is the 1 ft it drops per day! All that tasty water heads to the central valley and then down to LA.

An up close view of the nearby fire. We ran into firemen from Santa Clara who were there helping out.
